Part 1
Have you ever wondered what trauma is? It seems to be a buzz word right now, but there is a clear way to define it and understand it. In part 1 of a 4 part series, Dr. Crystal Krueger, DBH, LMFT aims to define trauma in a clear and concise while, providing examples to better understand it. She helps participants understand the basic neurobiology of trauma, such as the threat responses system, the three levels of safety and the impact of chronic stress. In addition, participants will understand the impact of trauma on behavioral communication in children. Dr. Krueger also aims to support people in the caregiving roll to help children who have experience trauma to support children in emotional regulation and strategies of making sense of problematic behaviors. Outcome of this training include:
What you’ll learn
- Participants will be able to define trauma..
- Participants will gain an understanding of the three self-protective responses of trauma..
- Participants will gain an understanding of how to regulate post traumatic responses..
- Participants will gains tools to support an expanded window of tolerance..

Outcome of this training include:
· Participants will be able to define trauma
· Participants will understand the 3 neurological levels of safety in order to make sense of triggers that might occur in the classroom
· Participants will learn the basic neurological functions of a threat response system in order to assist children to get back to a more regulated state
· Participants will be able to identify survival mechanisms in order to make sense of problem behaviors.
