Requirements
This course aims to empower and support parents of babies and children aged 6 to 36 months by offering a gentle and holistic approach to help improve your child’s sleep. I am passionate about using gentle sleep coaching techniques that don’t interfere with bonding or attachment and I would like to share them with you.
It is possible to vastly improve sleep without using controlled crying or cry it out techniques which were, in the past thought to be the most effective, or the ‘only’ way. I firmly believe children should feel supported, loved and responded to, alongside learning to settle happily and sleep well – when this is age appropriate. You know your child best and what may work for them. The techniques I use are evidence based and very successful and do not compromise your child’s emotional well-being or your own.
Through this course you will learn about the different sleep requirements by age, common sleep myths, routines and naps and some of the common causes of night waking. We will take a holistic view of sleep, examining other individual, family or environmental factors that may be influencing your child’s sleep. We examine different sleep strategies to help you identify which may be the most appropriate for your child and look at self-care for you, the parents, during what can be a difficult time. Each section includes an activity to help you apply your new knowledge to your child and your individual situation..
This course is designed for parents or carers of babies and toddlers aged from 6 months up to 3 years. The suggestions and techniques I recommend are designed specifically for this age group, as children’s needs change so much as they grow.
